The German automotive industry is renowned for its quality and innovative power. Little wonder then that Webasto Solar GmbH entered into cooperation with Sunways to develop its innovative solar sunroof. Thanks to our specifically quality-oriented manufacturing processes in Constance, Sunways was able to meet the exceptionally high standards required by this sector. Heat accumulation due to high outside temperatures is not a problem in vehicles fitted with the solar sunroof from Webasto Solar thanks to the incorporated Sunways Solar Cells. The energy generated powers an integrated ventilation system to provide a permanent flow of air even when the vehicle is not being used.
Manufacturing precision and the extremely homogenous surfaces of monocrystalline Sunways Solar Cells make them ideal for visible application areas with exacting design criteria. Consequently, solar sunroofs from Webasto Solar are fitted to vehicles from Audi, VW, Mercedes-Benz and Maybach. The practical benefit is that interior temperatures are up to 20 °C lower than in unventilated vehicles – all without burdening the batteries. In addition, the lower temperature enables the air conditioning to work more effectively and thus reduce fuel consumption.
Proven Sunways quality and optimal performance: Integrated into the glass area of each solar sunroof are four strings of seven 100 x 100 mm monocrystalline Sunways Solar Cells with a minimum individual cell output of 1.58 Watt.
