The rated output of 92 kWp on a 1,300 m² module surface means that Sunways transparent Solar Cells make a major contribution to energy efficiency.
Customised modules with their transparent, silver Sunways Solar Cells in the roof areas of the crystalline external surface produce energy as well as protect the occupants from excessive solar radiation.
As well as multi-space office areas, the deconstructivist office building houses a large auditorium with more than 600 seats, teaching rooms and a restaurant. Smaller open areas in the 12,800 m² building provide spaces for employees to meet informally.
The PV installation covers more than 85% of the total roof area. The roof contains 125,000 Sunways monocrystalline, transparent Solar Cells in total, each with an edge length of 100 mm. The innovative solar cells not only filter 88% of the sunlight, they also produce environment-friendly energy.
Besides producing customised, transparent solar cells for the project, Sunways also consulted a firm of architects and specialist planners about the concept of the building envelope and the design of the PV Modules. During the further development of the transparent solar cells an individual hole pattern was used to ensure daylight was filtered as uniformly as possible.
